Biography
Theodoor Ludwig has been active in the franchise industry since completing his law studies in 1989. After working for a number of years at a franchise consultancy firm, he has been a franchise lawyer since 1993. In June 1996, together with Derk van Dam, he founded the law firm Ludwig & Van Dam Advocaten, which specializes entirely in franchise. In addition to an extensive consultancy practice, Theodoor Ludwig is engaged in conflict management at various levels. In addition to being a lawyer, he also works as an arbitrator at the Netherlands Arbitration Institute and as a mediator. He is responsible, among other things, for the introduction and development of franchise jurisprudence in the Netherlands, including with regard to the responsibilities of the franchisor and franchisee with regard to financial forecasts in the franchise relationship. He is also a board member of the Dutch Franchise Association (NFV). He is also co-founder and regular publicist of the magazines Franchise & Recht and Franchiseplus, he regularly provides courses and workshops and he has guided the Belangen Vereniging Franchisenemers Nederland (BVFN) in its founding phase.
